Job Description
The Permitting Manager will lead the strategy and coordination of permitting efforts for geothermal energy projects across the western US, working with government agencies and stakeholders to secure necessary permits for project development and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement permitting strategies to secure discretionary approvals for geothermal projects
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to prepare and submit permit applications
- Work with internal teams and third-party consultants to facilitate the permitting process
- Manage relationships with project stakeholders to ensure successful permitting outcomes
- Navigate regulatory requirements across public and private lands in the western US
Requirements
- Experience working with Federal, State, and local agencies across the western US to prepare applications and obtain critical discretionary permits for geothermal energy projects.
- Ability to strategize and deploy a defensible permitting strategy that provides financeable discretionary approvals to develop, construct, and operate new geothermal projects on both public and private lands.
- Strong communication skills to engage and partner with internal and external subject matter experts and project stakeholders.
- Creative thinking skills to develop effective permitting strategies for geothermal energy projects.
