Job Description
The Permitting Manager will lead the development and execution of permitting strategies to secure necessary approvals for geothermal energy projects across public and private lands in the western US, working closely with government agencies, internal teams, and external consultants to enable project construction and operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement permitting strategies to secure discretionary approvals for geothermal projects
- Prepare and submit permit applications to Federal, State, and local agencies
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party consultants to facilitate permitting processes
- Engage with government agencies and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits for project development and construction
Requirements
- Experience working with Federal, State, and local agencies across the western US to prepare applications and obtain critical discretionary permits for geothermal energy projects.
- Ability to strategize and deploy a defensible permitting strategy that provides financeable discretionary approvals to develop, construct, and operate new geothermal projects on both public and private lands.
- Proven experience in permitting for geothermal energy projects or similar energy infrastructure projects.
- Strong communication skills for engagement and partnership with internal and external subject matter experts and project stakeholders.
- Ability to work in close coordination with teams and third-party consultants to advance permitting efforts.
