Job Description
This role involves selling Samsara's IoT solutions to mid-sized customers, managing the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, and building long-term relationships to help improve operational safety, efficiency, and sustainability across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Own customer engagements from prospecting to closing deals
- Research and identify potential customers to expand the sales pipeline
- Build and maintain genuine relationships with customers
- Learn and understand the businesses and industries of target customers
- Conduct high-volume cold calling to generate leads and opportunities
- Negotiate multi-faceted pricing and sales terms with stakeholders
- Collaborate with team members and demonstrate a growth mindset
- Focus on customer success and building long-term relationships
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a closing sales role
- At least 1 year of experience in sales focused on new school, government, and/or public sector accounts
- Proven track record of consistent quota achievement
- Experience selling in the public sector mid-market space with medium to large deal sizes
- Experience with high-volume cold calling
- Familiarity with Salesforce (SFDC)
- Ability to build genuine relationships with customers and earn their trust over time
- Willingness to learn about businesses with little prior knowledge and demonstrate a growth mindset
- Ability to own customer engagements end-to-end, including prospecting, qualification, and closing
- Ability to strategically outbound prospect and engage with multiple stakeholders, including executives and CXOs
- Excellent research skills to identify and expand sales pipeline
- Strong communication skills suitable for remote phone-based interactions
- Willingness to put in the effort required to learn complex sales processes and industry-specific knowledge
