Job Description
The Head of Communications will develop and execute strategic communication plans to promote Zanskar's geothermal exploration achievements, enhance public and media engagement, and position the company as a leader in geothermal energy, supporting growth in visibility, investor interest, and talent acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the company's communication strategy targeting multiple audiences.
- Manage founder-led communications and develop engaging content using field work imagery and videos.
- Oversee external PR efforts by managing relationships with media outlets and social media channels.
- Create and implement measurement and reporting frameworks to assess communication impact on business objectives.
- Support and coordinate with internal teams to tell discovery stories and promote geothermal energy benefits.
Requirements
- Design and execute a comprehensive multi-audience communications strategy that is timely, targeted, technical, and sometimes viral, working closely with the co-founders and other team leads.
- Utilize modern social media channels effectively to promote the company's work and message.
- Manage an external PR firm to connect the company's work with legacy mainstream and local media channels, depending on targeted audiences.
- Create engaging and motivating content using field work imagery, including photos and videos of geologic data collection, drilling rigs, and an operating power plant, to inspire excitement internally and externally for Zanskar and geothermal power.
- Achieve measurable success within six months by securing mentions and inclusion of Zanskar in most next-generation geothermal press, increasing engagement on social media channels, generating more inbound opportunities for public speaking engagements, and attracting larger inbound applicant pools for open positions.
- Develop and implement a measurement and reporting framework with metrics that capture the impact of communication efforts in driving share of mind and success in key business objectives such as recruiting, fundraising, and regulatory reform.
- Support founder-led communications and assist in crafting narratives that position Zanskar as a geothermal energy leader and emphasize geothermal as a key future energy source.
- Coordinate broad engagement across the company to tell discovery stories and promote the company's impact and future potential in geothermal energy.
