Job Description

A project engineer responsible for leading and managing SCADA controls automation projects for municipal water, wastewater, and industrial clients, focusing on development, implementation, and client collaboration throughout project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage water, wastewater, remediation, and industrial automation and control systems projects.
  • Lead medium to large-scale SCADA project implementations from planning through completion.
  • Oversee and lead SCADA project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings at job sites.
  • Collaborate with municipal clients and internal teams to ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are met.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycle.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical guidance and communication.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to initiatives that improve project performance and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing water, wastewater, remediation, and industrial projects with a focus on automation and control systems.
  • Ability to lead medium to large-scale SCADA implementation projects, including standalone or multidisciplinary projects, from planning through completion.
  • Understanding and ability to meet project requirements while working within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Strong communication and technical skills to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience serving as the lead for projects and overseeing project startups, preconstruction, and kickoff meetings.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally up to 80%, including occasional overnight travel, to oversee and lead project activities at job sites.
  • Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentoring junior staff and contributing to initiatives that enhance team performance and efficiency.
  • Possession of relevant technical skills related to SCADA controls, automation, and control systems engineering.
