Job Description
The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating wastewater treatment systems, performing laboratory tests, and maintaining plant equipment to ensure efficient and compliant wastewater processing at a state-of-the-art facility in Victorville, California.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plant equipment to control influent and effluent flows
- Assist with basic laboratory testing and sample collection
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
- Learn and perform operational duties to ensure compliance and efficient plant operation
Requirements
- Possess a Grade 2 State of California Wastewater Treatment License in order to operate independently at the wastewater treatment facility.
- Possess a Grade 3 State of California Wastewater Treatment License in order to operate independently at the wastewater treatment facility.
- Work under the direct or general supervision of the Lead Operator and Plant Manager.
- Learn and perform a variety of operational duties to control the processing of wastewater and effluent, including regulating influent and effluent flows within the system and monitoring the operation of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
- Assist with basic laboratory testing, sample collection, and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in support of the wastewater treatment plant.
- Work scheduled four 10-hour shifts from 6am to 4pm, Sunday through Wednesday, after onboarding and training.
- Work rotating standby on call, including weekends, with a $200 stipend provided for on-call time.
- Be eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
