Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining data-intensive web applications and data services that support Voltus's core business in clean energy, focusing on real-time performance monitoring, financial forecasting, and payment systems, with opportunities to work on both frontend and backend engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data-intensive web applications for real-time performance and grid monitoring.
- Build and optimize data processing pipelines, warehouses, and APIs to streamline data management.
- Design and implement backend services for financial forecasting and payment management.
- Collaborate across frontend and backend development to deliver integrated software solutions.
- Work with data technologies such as Clickhouse, Deltalake, Postgres, and Kafka to support data-driven features.
- Apply systems thinking and domain-driven design principles to manage system complexity.
Requirements
- Deep experience in data and backend engineering, with the ability to build and maintain data processing pipelines, warehouses, and APIs.
- Experience with data-intensive web applications for real-time performance and grid monitoring.
- Proficiency in programming with Python and experience working on AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Experience working with data storage and processing technologies such as Clickhouse, Deltalake, Postgres, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with containerization and deployment using Docker.
- Knowledge of systems thinking and techniques like Domain Driven Design to manage system complexity.
- Ability to work on both frontend and backend development, with a requirement for deep experience in backend engineering and openness to or experience with frontend engineering.
- Authorization to work from a home location in the US or Canada, with the ability to work primarily from the home country and compliance with company policies regarding remote work and travel.
