A Cost Engineer role focused on delivering innovative, digitally-enhanced cost management solutions across complex construction projects, overseeing all commercial aspects from inception to completion, and fostering collaboration and continuous improvement within a dynamic, technology-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
Manage project costs through all stages, including risk-adjusted forecasting and stage gate reviews.
Lead pre-construction estimating and post-contract cost management, including handling complex change orders.
Provide actionable reports to stakeholders to facilitate efficient project delivery.
Develop scalable, repeatable best practices, tools, and processes in collaboration with the team.
Oversee the entire commercial aspect of projects from initial concepts to close-out, ensuring financial control and protection of client interests.
Requirements
Mastery Cost Management background with at least 5 years of experience on construction projects.
Proficient in written and spoken English communication skills; additional language abilities, with Norwegian considered an advantage.
Extensive experience working directly with clients as a seasoned Cost Engineer, ideally with some stints working for Tier 1 or 2 Contractors.
Understanding that cost is a byproduct of schedule, risk, and scope, with the ability to develop comprehensive commercial strategies for complex construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and cost control, from initiation to close-out and handover.
Demonstrated success in leading negotiations with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to secure optimal terms and favourable outcomes in fast-paced environments.
Experience working within the Nordic market and willingness to travel every other week to support regional operations.
Experience in managing project costs through all stage gates, integrating QCRA and risk-adjusted forecasting to provide a no surprises financial environment.
Ability to lead pre-construction estimating and post-contract live cost management, including managing complex change orders with deep-dive cost analysis to protect the client’s interests.
Capability to provide simple, actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels to help them deliver their part of the project more efficiently and effectively.
Proven ability to develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team to achieve long-term impact.
Commitment to maximizing the development of team members personally and professionally, and educating clients to improve their processes.
Prior experience in Data Centres or high-tech industrial projects is highly valued.
Proven ability to develop comprehensive commercial strategies for complex construction projects, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and cost control, from initiation to close-out and handover.
Demonstrated success in leading negotiations with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to secure optimal terms and favourable outcomes.
