Job Description

A Meteorologist at AlertMedia is responsible for providing timely and accurate weather forecasts and alerts related to major weather events and natural disasters to support global clients' safety and business continuity. The role involves analyzing weather data, communicating critical information, and collaborating with a global intelligence team in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Use weather forecasting tools to identify weather events impacting clients
Communicate critical weather information and alerts to customers promptly
Provide daily regional weather forecasts and updates on major weather events
Partner with Global Intelligence Analysts to gather and direct information on weather events and natural disasters
Leverage social media and other sources to surface and alert impacts of weather and disasters
Support customer webinars and product offerings in collaboration with senior meteorologists

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
2-4 years experience in meteorology forecasting
Strong forecasting skills coupled with the ability to take complex scientific concepts, both weather related and beyond, and communicate them effectively
Ability to multitask effectively with strong attention to detail
Understanding of weather forecasting tools and systems and the ability to evaluate weather data for various international locations
Ability to work under stressful situations, in a fast-paced environment with critical timelines
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate and collaborate with others
Shift flexibility to work scheduled shifts between Wednesday and Saturday, 2pm-12am CT, with brief interruptions during extreme weather events
Candidates must have existing authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
