Job Description
The role involves leading environmental strategy, permitting, compliance, and regulatory activities for on-site power generation and microgrid projects supporting data centers across the U.S., ensuring regulatory compliance and operational stability while managing environmental risks at an executive level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and scale all environmental functions supporting development, permitting, construction, and operations of on-site power generation for data centers.
- Develop and implement environmental strategy, standards, and compliance programs.
- Manage agency relationships and oversee consultants to ensure regulatory compliance and project delivery.
- Provide executive oversight of environmental risk management across natural gas facilities, data center infrastructure, and electric transmission assets.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and in full regulatory compliance to maintain operational stability.
Requirements
- Experience leading all environmental functions supporting development, permitting, construction, and operations of on-site power generation supporting large data center loads across the U.S.
- Ability to lead all environmental strategy, permitting, compliance, and regulatory interface activities for a data center business, providing executive-level oversight of environmental risk management across natural gas generation facilities, data center infrastructure, and electric transmission and distribution assets.
- Proven track record in establishing environmental standards, managing agency relationships, overseeing consultants, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and in full regulatory compliance.
- Experience in managing environmental risk to ensure projects move forward with regulatory certainty, disciplined compliance, and long-term operational stability.
- Leadership experience with strategic and operational accountability in environmental management roles.
- Ability to ensure full regulatory compliance of environmental activities and projects.
- Based in or willing to work from one of the following offices: NYC, Ridgewood NJ, Santa Monica CA, Oakland CA, or Chicago IL.
