Job Description
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the design, regulation, construction, and execution of off-grid microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for hyperscale and colocation data centers, ensuring project success, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of behind-the-meter BTM, microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for data centers
- Support project design during the planning phase to ensure integration of operational, vendor, and regulatory requirements
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, utilities, and local authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance
- Execute infrastructure updates such as natural gas pipeline connections and site modifications
- Lead EPC oversight, ensuring vendors and contractors meet project timelines, quality, safety, and contractual standards
- Monitor construction progress, identify delays, and resolve issues to maintain project momentum
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership during construction, providing updates and addressing concerns
Requirements
- Experience in overseeing the execution of behind-the-meter BTM, off-grid microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for hyperscale and colocation data centers.
- Ability to provide project design support during the design phase to ensure that execution details such as natural gas requirements, operational feasibility, vendor alignment, and operational feasibility risks are integrated into project plans.
- Experience in managing relationships with regulatory bodies, utilities, and local authorities to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with site regulations and infrastructure requirements.
- Proficiency in executing infrastructure updates required for the site, including natural gas pipeline connection and potential lateral builds.
- Experience in leading EPC oversight activities, ensuring vendors and contractors deliver in alignment with expectations and timelines of data center customers.
- Ability to monitor construction progress against the schedule, proactively identify and resolve delays or bottlenecks to maintain project momentum.
- Experience conducting regular site visits and progress reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and contractual obligations.
- Proven ability to serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership during the construction phase, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with project execution.
- Strong business acumen, stakeholder management, problem-solving skills, and a builder’s mindset.
- Educational background or experience relevant to project management, engineering, or related fields (implied but not explicitly specified).
