Job Description
The role involves developing and leading automation testing frameworks for IoT hardware and software products, ensuring high-quality releases, and integrating AI and simulation tools to streamline development and testing processes across global operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale automation test frameworks to enable high-quality software and firmware releases.
- Identify bottlenecks in testing processes and develop solutions to improve speed and quality.
- Design and implement robust, scalable software frameworks capable of handling global device fleet demands.
- Integrate AI tools and intelligent automation to streamline development and testing workflows.
- Develop sophisticated software to connect hardware infrastructure with automation utilities, including simulation and validation tools.
- Promote organizational adoption of automation tools through demos, tutorials, and proof-of-concept presentations.
- Create high-fidelity simulation environments for functional testing prior to hardware deployment.
- Develop strategic, long-term solutions by understanding and addressing core pain points of internal customers.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex automation solutions, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
Requirements
- Five years of experience developing software, with bonus points for emphasis on testing software tools for product development and validation.
- Understanding of tradeoffs between efficiency, scalability, and performance.
- Extensive experience in code reviews, especially cross-functional cross-discipline.
- Experience creating and implementing hardware-in-the-loop simulation.
- Technical understanding of communication protocols TCP, UART, and wireless.
- Ability to design and develop hardware infrastructure for test applications, e.g., power measurement tools, RF testing.
- Experience with test instrumentation, including the use of power supplies, power analyzers, battery simulators, call boxes, and GPS simulators.
- Experience working and developing within a Linux environment.
- Proven track record of building and scaling automation and HIL testing frameworks from the ground up.
- Hands-on experience testing embedded systems with CAN interfaces, and wireless protocols like BLE, WiFi, LTE, and GNSS.
- Expertise in defining test strategies, triaging complex failures, and leveraging Python and data tools such as SQL, Pandas, and Databricks to turn raw metrics into actionable insights.
- A Product Owner Mindset, with deep customer empathy, full accountability for end-to-end outcomes, and proactive adaptation based on feedback.
- Ability to proactively identify bottlenecks in testing speed and quality and build solutions to eliminate them.
- Ability to design and scale robust software frameworks capable of handling the reliability and performance demands of a global device fleet.
- Experience integrating AI tools and intelligent automation to streamline development and testing workflows.
- Ability to develop high-fidelity simulation environments for functional testing before hardware reaches the bench.
- Ability to develop deep empathy for internal customers, identify core pain points, and recommend long-term solutions.
- Ability to act as an internal evangelist for automation tools through demos, tutorials, and proof-of-concept presentations.
