Job Description
This role involves selling Samsara's IoT solutions to mid-sized customers, managing the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, and building long-term relationships to help improve operational safety, efficiency, and sustainability across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Own customer engagements from prospecting to closing deals
- Research and identify potential customers and contacts to expand the sales pipeline
- Build and maintain genuine relationships with customers to foster trust and long-term success
- Learn and understand the businesses and industries of target customers to tailor sales approaches
- Conduct high-volume cold calling to generate new sales opportunities
- Collaborate with team members and adopt a growth mindset to improve sales strategies
- Focus on customer success and long-term value creation through the sales process
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a closing sales role
- At least 1 year of experience in sales focused on new school, government, and/or public sector accounts
- Proven track record of consistent quota achievement
- Experience selling in the public sector mid-market space with medium to large deal sizes
- Experience with high-volume cold calling
- Familiarity with Salesforce (SFDC)
- Ability to build genuine relationships with customers and demonstrate trust-building over time
- Willingness to learn about businesses with little prior knowledge and develop industry-specific insights
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and a willingness to be collaborative with teammates and in the selling process
- Ability to own customer engagements end-to-end, from prospecting and qualification to close
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with multiple stakeholders, including executives and CXOs
- Ability to handle sales involving POCs, multi-faceted pricing negotiations, and complex sales processes
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain the legal right to work in the specified work location
