Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for developing innovative GIS solutions, advising customers on complex business challenges, and demonstrating the value of Esri's GIS technology across natural resources industries. The role involves technical consulting, solution design, presentations, and collaboration with enterprise clients to drive revenue and support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships and support selling Esri software and solutions to customers
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise decision makers to drive revenue
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in GIS and Natural Resources industries
- Develop complex GIS solutions aligned with customer business needs
- Design and deliver technical presentations for diverse audiences
- Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri applications and system architecture
- Share knowledge and coach team members on GIS best practices
Requirements
- Five years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications.
- Three years of experience in one or more Natural Resources industries such as oil and gas, pipeline, renewable energy, mining, forestry, or agriculture.
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context, including hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing.
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design.
- Understanding of sales and business development processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture.
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments, specifically Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms.
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript.
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field.
