Job Description
The Chief of Staff Head of Business Operations at Samsara supports the Chief People Officer by managing strategic initiatives, business operations, and communications within the People organization to drive organizational effectiveness and alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Chief People Officer on business, strategy, and operational aspects of the People organization
- Partner with stakeholders across the company to develop and implement people and workforce strategies
- Manage the People Team budget and drive annual operating planning and resource allocation
- Lead and track progress on major People Team initiatives and KPIs
- Own the agenda and facilitate communication for People Leadership Team meetings and offsites
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy consulting or equivalent data-oriented roles with strong analytical modeling experience.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual presentation communication skills.
- Proven ability to design and communicate clear processes, with a detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Strong bias for action and ability to work with urgency without hastiness.
- Ability to build credibility at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA is optional.
- Ability to serve as a thought partner to the Chief People Officer and People Leadership Team on all areas of people strategy, including workforce strategy, organizational design, HR AI and technology strategy, and major strategic initiatives.
- Experience in managing the People Team budget and driving annual operating planning, including investments in resourcing, technology, and efficiency initiatives.
- Experience in leading and ensuring progress on major People Team initiatives, including tracking and ensuring progress against People Team KPIs.
- Ability to own the agenda for weekly People Leadership Team meetings, plan People Team offsites, and oversee internal People Team communications.
- Ability to work as a strategic thinker, clear and structured communicator, and an eager collaborator.
- Comfort in raising difficult topics, working with urgency, maintaining humor and perspective in busy times.
- Ability to support and drive strategic initiatives related to people and business operations in a remote work environment.
- Legal right to work in the U.S. and ability to work remotely or in a specified geographic area as required by the role.
