Job Description

The Associate Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for demonstrating and explaining IoT hardware, sensors, and related technologies to customers, supporting sales efforts through technical expertise, and helping clients understand how Samsara's connected operations solutions can improve their physical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in Samsara products and IoT technology to support customer needs.
  • Conduct technical discovery calls to understand customer requirements and answer questions efficiently.
  • Provide technical demonstrations and explain device installation and integration processes.
  • Educate customers on APIs and deploy scripts using Samsara API in testing environments.
  • Act as a liaison between product and sales teams, translating technical feedback and supporting beta programs.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
  • Experience tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors, or vehicles is a plus
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity
