Job Description

A Water Resources Engineer responsible for designing ecological restoration and stormwater systems, conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, performing field assessments, and collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support environmental restoration projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop designs for ecological restoration, stormwater systems, and erosion sediment control
  • Utilize AutoCAD, FlowMaster, HEC-RAS, and GIS to create and analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models
  • Conduct technical report writing and organize data collection to support project work
  • Participate in fieldwork to gather site data, perform site reconnaissance, and assess project sites
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure design implementation
  • Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and permitting agencies to achieve project objectives

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or natural resources engineering or a related field
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) eligibility
  • Previous industry-related internship experience
  • Understanding of watershed hydrology fundamentals
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, and hydrologic hydraulic modeling
  • Fundamental civil and environmental engineering concepts
  • Experience in reading and interpreting plans
  • Basic experience in technical report writing and documentation
  • Field techniques including cross-section (XS), long-pro, survey, and site assessment
  • Ability to collaborate closely with senior engineers and team members to develop designs for ecological restoration, stormwater systems, and erosion sediment control
  • Ability to utilize software such as AutoCAD, FlowMaster, HEC-RAS, and GIS to assist in the creation and analysis of hydrologic and hydraulic models
  • Engagement in technical report writing and meticulous data collection organization to support projects
  • Participation in fieldwork to gather critical site data, perform site reconnaissance and assessments, and conduct site visits to assess project sites and observe construction progress
  • Effective communication with clients, project stakeholders, and permitting agencies to achieve project goals
