The Restoration Manager I oversees ecological restoration projects, leading field operations, managing invasive species, ensuring safety and compliance, and supporting project planning and team leadership to restore ecosystems and protect natural resources.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily safety meetings, coach team members, and ensure safety compliance
Operate, maintain, and train others on equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and UTVs
Develop site-specific environmental restoration plans and ensure safety reporting and hazard remediation
Implement and manage invasive species control and herbicide application programs
Support prescribed burn activities, ensuring safety and compliance
Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure work quality and compliance
Coordinate and track construction and maintenance activities, manage resources, and maintain records
Perform administrative tasks including timekeeping, expense reporting, and compliance documentation
Train, hire, orient, and evaluate crew members
Engage with clients, stakeholders, and the public to communicate project updates
Lead and oversee land management activities such as controlled burns, invasive species treatment, and native planting
Supervise construction activities on restoration projects and support equipment maintenance
Assist in planning activities, preparing construction quality control plans, and developing scopes of work
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in applied sciences, natural resources, or a related field or equivalent construction restoration experience.
At least 5 years of ecological restoration experience.
S130 190 wildfire certifications if required by region.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, mapping software, and GPS systems.
Strong knowledge of ecological restoration practices, invasive species management, and QA QC processes.
Ability to travel up to 75 within South and Central Florida.
