The EHS Specialist supports environmental, health, safety, and security compliance across ecological restoration and construction projects by conducting site inspections, providing safety training, and ensuring proper safety practices both in the field and office settings.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with EHS standards and provide real-time guidance to field crews.
Ensure field crews are properly equipped with PPE and safety gear.
Lead and document incident and accident investigations, including triaging injuries and coordinating workers' compensation cases.
Travel regularly to job sites across the assigned region to support safety compliance.
Develop, coordinate, and deliver safety training programs for employees.
Maintain safety compliance records and databases such as Avetta and ISNetworld.
Participate in safety committee meetings with employees, clients, and suppliers.
Perform administrative and reporting duties related to safety compliance remotely.
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in a construction-related environment, with working knowledge of heavy equipment.
Familiarity with OSHA construction safety standards.
Ability and willingness to travel frequently to job sites across the assigned region.
A Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
OSHA 30 Construction certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Professional certifications such as CSP, GSP, CHST, ASP, or willingness to obtain these certifications.
Experience using compliance platforms such as Avetta and ISNetworld.
Experience leading safety training and safety committee meetings.
