Job Description
The Restoration Manager I oversees ecological restoration projects, leading field operations, managing invasive species and safety protocols, and coordinating team efforts to restore ecosystems while ensuring compliance and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily safety meetings, coach team members, and ensure safety compliance
- Operate, maintain, and train others on equipment such as skid steers, tractors, and UTVs
- Develop and implement site-specific ecological restoration and invasive species management plans
- Oversee invasive species control, herbicide application, and prescribed burn activities
- Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality and compliance
- Coordinate project scheduling, resource management, and record-keeping with project and operations managers
- Perform administrative tasks including reporting, expense tracking, and compliance documentation
- Train, hire, and evaluate crew members, providing leadership and team development
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and the public to communicate project updates
- Oversee construction and land management activities on restoration projects
- Support equipment maintenance and develop construction quality control plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in applied sciences, natural resources, or a related field or equivalent construction restoration experience.
- 5 years of ecological restoration experience.
- Valid Commercial Pesticide Applicator License applicable categories.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
- Valid DOT medical card.
- S130 190 wildfire certifications if required by region.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, mapping software, and GPS systems.
- Strong knowledge of ecological restoration practices, invasive species management, and QA QC processes.
- Ability to travel up to 75 within South and Central Florida.
