Job Description

The Restoration Supervisor I is responsible for leading ecological restoration projects in the field, supervising technicians, and ensuring the successful execution of planting, seeding, and invasive species management to make a positive environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete ecological restoration work in the field, including planting, seeding, and invasive species management
  • Supervise and lead Restoration Technicians and field crews to ensure project goals are met efficiently and safely
  • Operate and oversee the use of equipment such as trucks, UTVs, brush cutters, skid steers, and GPS systems
  • Conduct safety checks, daily tailgate safety meetings, and ensure compliance with safety protocols
  • Perform quality assurance on restoration activities and equipment maintenance, taking corrective actions as needed
  • Coordinate administrative tasks including timecard coding, expense reporting, and documenting field activities
  • Collaborate with management to update project schedules, resource needs, and communicate progress

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of ecological restoration experience with a strong grasp of planting plans, environmental standards (ES), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), invasive species management, and prescribed burn operations.
  • Holding valid S130 and S190 certifications as applicable.
  • Proficiency in operating large trucks with trailers, UTVs, brush cutters, augers, chainsaws, skid steers, tractors, and sprayers.
  • Strong background in identifying and executing equipment maintenance needs and procedures, with a proactive approach to minimizing downtime.
  • Ability to mix and apply herbicides correctly and safely manage invasive species programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to relay project updates, provide solution-based feedback, and ensure clear communication across all levels.
  • Valid CPR-AED First Aid certification.
  • A valid DOT medical card.
  • A valid Commercial Pesticide Applicator License in the applicable state(s).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions and exposure to insects such as ticks and mosquitoes, and poisonous plants such as poison ivy.
