Job Description
The role involves leading and managing a high-performing team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers to drive strategic growth and technical success in the data storage industry, while aligning sales and technical strategies and fostering a strong company culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers to drive strategic outcomes and support sales efforts.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to grow revenue and ensure sustainable long-term growth.
- Manage pipeline analysis, forecasting, and technical reporting to support sales objectives.
- Hire, retain, and develop a high-performing team of SE Managers and Systems Engineers.
- Align technical messaging and approach across various internal and external teams and partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with regional partners, customers, and industry networks.
- Promote company culture, recognize team achievements, and foster a positive work environment.
- Engage with customers, partners, and prospects to understand their technical challenges and support pre-sales activities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars to promote products and solutions.
- Act as an executive sponsor for larger opportunities and contribute to regional industry leadership.
Requirements
- 15 years of experience in a field Pre-sales position.
- Experience leading a team with direct management responsibilities in a large geography.
- Previous experience supporting the growth of a rapidly expanding organization and managing initiatives aimed at achieving 20% revenue growth.
- Willingness to travel as needed on a regular basis.
- Ability to interact with customers, partners, and prospects to understand their business challenges and engagement in the pre-sales process.
- Understanding of the big picture, industry trends, and competition.
- Effective communication skills to cascade communication and goals throughout teams.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between pre-sales and post-sales activities, solutions implementation, and support in line with client expectations.
- Understanding and ability to communicate technical issues and enhancement requests from customers back to technical support, product management, and R&D.
- Ability to analyze employee actions and identify shortcomings affecting overall productivity.
- Adaptability to changes and ability to quickly make operational adjustments as needed.
- Self-starter and highly motivated with a proactive approach.
- Active contributor in regional industry events, organizations, and thought leadership activities.
- Strong ethics and personal integrity, treating people with respect at all times.
- High degree of accountability and ownership.
- Ability to develop, improve, and maintain resources to meet and exceed sales goals while supporting customer and partner needs.
- Experience supporting the growth of a rapidly expanding organization and managing initiatives aimed at achieving 20% revenue growth.
- Experience in a leadership role as Director of Enterprise Systems Engineering or similar, responsible for leading and inspiring a high-performing team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers and SE Managers.
- Experience setting technical vision, developing top sales engineering talent, and aligning pre-sales strategy with go-to-market priorities.
- Ability to retain, hire, and lead a world-class team of SE Managers and Systems Engineers, ensuring technical success throughout the sales process.
- Experience developing, improving, and maintaining resources to support sales and customer needs.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and conduct regular 1-on-1s with team members to provide constructive feedback and skills development.
- Ability to ensure all team members have clear goals and Individual Development Plans.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with technical counterparts within regional alliance and channel partners.
- Ability to build and maintain a professional network within and outside of the company.
- Experience in fostering and living company values and culture, recognizing and rewarding outstanding behaviors.
- Technical, leadership, and soft skills including effective communication, industry trend awareness, and customer engagement skills.

Annual base salary range of $177,100 to $311,500 USD
