This position involves supporting the interior design team through all project phases, including design development, documentation, material selection, and presentation preparation, with a focus on technical and collaborative aspects within a multidisciplinary architecture firm.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the design team in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
Support interior space design development and documentation, including creating floor plans, elevations, details, and finish plans.
Conduct research for product and finish selections and assist in developing finish plans and specifications.
Help prepare presentation materials, including computerized renderings and other visual aids.
Produce drawings and support functions in accordance with project constraints and standards.
Assist in the selection and specification of building materials, furnishings, and interior finishes.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field is required.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience is required.
Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
Strong creative design portfolio is essential.
Ability to handle multiple projects and demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, and organizational skills.
Ability to assist in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration under supervision.
Assist with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specification throughout all phases of interior design work, as directed by the design team.
Assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces, including drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, pattern plans, elevations, details, and room finishes.
Conduct research for product and finish selections as directed and assist in the development of finish plans and specifications.
Become familiar with building and life safety codes and their correct application to Interior Design work.
Assist in preparing presentation materials and computerized renderings in conformance with project standards.
Produce drawings and support functions as directed, adhering to project time, cost, and quality constraints.
Follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
Assist in the selection or consideration of building materials such as flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, furnishings, and other interior materials.
May be required to maintain the Interior Design library by organizing and updating materials as determined by the office.
Order samples and materials from vendors.
Travel as required for project needs.
Complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to internal policies and the Code of Conduct.
