Job Description
The Fire Sprinkler Test Inspection Lead Tech is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems and related equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and communicating deficiencies to clients, while managing tools, vehicles, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and backflows according to NFPA codes
- Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to SFS and customers
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers and offsite monitoring companies
- Operate tools properly to complete inspections
- Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections on schedule
- Maintain company vehicle and tools in good condition
- Follow safety protocols and keep safety documentation accessible on each project
- Attend seminars to stay updated on technology and testing methods
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- NICET II in water-based systems and/or state required certification based on location
- 3-5 Years experience inspecting fire protection systems
- Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Valid state issued driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Background check, DMV record check if applicable, and pre-employment drug screening if required
