Job Description

The Fire Extinguisher Assembly Refill Technician is responsible for assembling, servicing, refilling, and testing fire extinguishers in a shop environment, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble new fire extinguishers according to manufacturer specifications
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, and refill used fire extinguishers
  • Perform annual and 6-year fire extinguisher inspections and recharges
  • Test extinguishers to ensure correct pressure, weight, and functionality
  • Replace parts, components, and labels as needed
  • Maintain accurate service and inspection records
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of mechanical, technical, or equipment service experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
  • Ability to assemble new fire extinguishers according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, and refill used fire extinguishers.
  • Perform annual and 6-year fire extinguisher inspections and recharges.
  • Test extinguishers to ensure correct pressure, weight, and functionality.
  • Replace parts, components, and labels as needed.
  • Maintain accurate service and inspection records.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
