Job Description
The Fire Extinguisher Assembly Refill Technician is responsible for assembling, servicing, refilling, and testing fire extinguishers in a shop environment, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble new fire extinguishers according to manufacturer specifications
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, and refill used fire extinguishers
- Perform annual and 6-year fire extinguisher inspections and recharges
- Test extinguishers to ensure correct pressure, weight, and functionality
- Replace parts, components, and labels as needed
- Maintain accurate service and inspection records
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years of mechanical, technical, or equipment service experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
- Ability to assemble new fire extinguishers according to manufacturer specifications.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, and refill used fire extinguishers.
- Perform annual and 6-year fire extinguisher inspections and recharges.
- Test extinguishers to ensure correct pressure, weight, and functionality.
- Replace parts, components, and labels as needed.
- Maintain accurate service and inspection records.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
