Job Description

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for high-value customer accounts, building long-term relationships, and driving revenue growth while representing Phoenix Contact's products and solutions globally, often working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans and measurable objectives for high-value customers
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with key customer stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and Phoenix Contact, advocating for customer needs
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional account teams to execute account strategies
  • Drive financial performance and growth of assigned accounts
  • Develop customer presentations, proposals, and promotional content tailored to accounts
  • Communicate global and regional pricing strategies and coordinate channel partner activities
  • Maintain strong technical and product knowledge to support account strategies
  • Ensure timely completion of reports, documentation, and internal communications
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to business process enhancements

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years Sales experience or Industry experience
  • 3-5 years successful professional experience in developing relationships
  • Practical experience with implementing and facilitating business deals operationally
  • Proficiency in German language preferred
  • BS or equivalent industry experience
  • Must be able to travel by airplane
  • Must have a valid driver s license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. (sample, demos, literature)
  • Must be able to travel overnight, 50% or more of the time
  • Comply with company dress code guidelines
  • Punctuality in all aspects is required
  • Timely submittal of expense reports, monthly account reports, visit reports, and business reviews
  • Attendance in accordance with company policies and participation in local, regional, and international meetings
  • Regular and on-time attendance
