Job Description

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) provides technical support and expertise to promote and sell Phoenix Contact's automation, control, and networking products within the industrial automation industry, focusing on customer engagement, technical demonstrations, and sales growth in the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and promote sales of automation, control, and networking products to increase revenue.
  • Act as the technical representative for Phoenix Contact products, providing expertise and support to sales teams and customers.
  • Develop sales tools, collateral, and campaigns to drive product awareness and sales.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate business growth.
  • Deliver product presentations and hands-on demonstrations to showcase solutions and support sales efforts.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
  • Utilize CRM systems for customer management, reporting, and tracking sales activities.
  • Collaborate with sales teams through joint activities, trainings, and strategic planning to achieve sales targets.
  • Provide technical reports and insights to management to inform product and market strategies.
  • Participate in industry associations and continue personal skill development to stay current in the field.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree required, with an engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
  • Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to travel overnight 40 or more nights per year as dictated by the assigned territory.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
  • Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
