Job Description
The Field Application Engineer provides technical support and expertise in automation, control, and networking products to support sales growth, customer satisfaction, and market expansion within the industrial automation industry, primarily working with sales teams and customers in the southwestern United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and promote sales of Phoenix Contact automation, control, and networking products to increase revenue.
- Act as the technical representative to assist sales teams and customers with product applications and technical issues.
- Develop sales tools, collateral, and campaigns to drive product awareness and sales.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate business growth.
- Deliver product presentations and hands-on demonstrations to showcase product capabilities.
- Maintain and utilize CRM systems for customer information, reporting, and tracking sales activities.
- Provide technical expertise and support for power-related technical matters within the territory.
- Stay knowledgeable about all Phoenix Contact product solutions and industry trends.
- Collaborate with sales teams through joint activities, trainings, and strategic planning to meet sales targets.
- Actively participate in industry associations and utilize resources to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Four-year degree required, with an engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
- Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to travel overnight 40 or more nights as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
