Job Description
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) provides technical support and expertise in automation, control, and networking products to drive sales growth, develop customer relationships, and support the expansion of Phoenix Contact's product applications within the industrial automation industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sales growth by increasing revenue across automation, control, and networking products at customer accounts.
- Act as the technical representative for Phoenix Contact products, providing expertise to support sales efforts.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and hands-on applications to customers.
- Collaborate with sales teams to execute joint sales activities, trainings, and strategic plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate new business and growth.
- Develop sales tools, collateral, and campaigns to promote products and solutions.
- Provide customer insights for product line expansion and new industry focus.
- Utilize CRM systems for customer communication, reporting, and tracking sales activities.
- Demonstrate technical competence and stay updated on product solutions within the area of focus.
- Drive value-added applications and engineered solutions to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- Four-year degree required, Engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
- Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 40 or more nights as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
