The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, technical and operational accounting, and debt management for a renewable energy company's independent power production business, ensuring compliance and supporting company growth through effective accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
Own and execute all financial reporting, technical accounting, and operational accounting for the company's independent power production business and tax equity entity.
Maintain accounting processes and controls for the independent power production business, including documentation and oversight.
Manage and execute all tax equity entity tax reporting and annual audits.
Manage accounting for all company debt, including draws, debt covenants, and cash sweep analysis.
Review business contracts for technical and operational accounting implications and oversee their implementation.
Participate in the development and maintenance of the company's financial systems.
Contribute to the company's technical accounting, audit processes, and ad hoc accounting initiatives.
Ensure adherence to accounting and finance policies and procedures in daily operations.
Identify and implement process improvements for transactional efficiency and system effectiveness.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting
Active CPA certification
5 to 10 years of experience across public accounting and industry
Big 4 accounting experience preferred
Renewable energy accounting experience
Tax equity entity accounting experience
Demonstrated high degree of time management and organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at various stages of delivery with competing deadlines
Proactive and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly communicate problems and identify possible resolutions
Ability to apply a systems mindset to own workflow, across the accounting function, and cross-functionally
Exceptional attention to detail
Self-motivated with a team-oriented approach to work, contributing to a supportive, collaborative, cross functional team environment
Comfortable operating in a hybrid remote and in person team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Office 365 skills, particularly in Excel
Experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite preferred

Compensation/salary range: 130,000 - 180,000 depending on location and experience
