The Sustainability Analyst will support Octopus Energy's efforts in data collection, reporting, and compliance related to sustainability and carbon footprint metrics, helping to communicate the company's environmental impact and ensure adherence to reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Organize and streamline energy and carbon data collection for the group's SECR and full footprint
Improve data collection processes to ensure high-quality, assurance-ready data
Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reporting for investors and stakeholders
Establish systems and controls for sustainability reporting and storytelling
Support compliance with current and upcoming sustainability reporting frameworks such as CSRD
Take ownership of sustainability and carbon reporting activities for the group
Support stewardship and engagement activities with underlying companies within the group
Requirements
Experience working closely with a Group s sustainability Manager and a wide variety of teams such as Finance, Sales, Workspace, and Product to organize and streamline energy and carbon data collection for the Group s SECR and full footprint.
Ability to improve data collection processes and ensure high quality assurance ready data.
Experience with reporting to investors and stakeholders, establishing systems and controls to effectively communicate sustainability impact.
Knowledge of current and upcoming sustainability reporting frameworks such as the CSRD and ability to assist with readiness and compliance.
Strong analytical skills with a data-led approach to sustainability and carbon reporting.
Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of aspects of Sustainability and Carbon reporting for the Group.
Educational background or experience relevant to sustainability, environmental science, data analysis, or related fields (implied, as the role involves technical and analytical tasks).
