Job Description
A Senior Site Reliability Engineer responsible for maintaining and scaling Loft Orbital's ground segment infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and integration of services that support space operations on Earth and in orbit, with opportunities to work on innovative SatDevOps technology and satellite operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and scale ground segment infrastructure for space operations
- Collaborate across development, operations, and IT teams to ensure service integration, delivery, and reliability
- Apply DevOps principles, including SatDevOps, to spacecraft control and satellite operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintaining and scaling cloud infrastructure, with a focus on ground segment infrastructure for space operations.
- Experience collaborating across development, operations, and IT teams to ensure the integration, delivery, and reliability of services supporting space operations on Earth and in orbit.
- Knowledge and application of DevOps principles, including automation and continuous integration/delivery practices, even in spacecraft control environments.
- Ability to operate and maintain satellite ground systems and infrastructure, with training provided for satellite operation as part of the role.
- Strong understanding of modern automated space infrastructure and related technologies.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with scaling requirements, supporting a growing fleet of satellites, with a track record of supporting missions from end-to-end.
- Ability to work in an international environment, with the capacity to review and understand technical documentation in English.
- Educational background or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field such as computer science, engineering, or related disciplines (implied, as the role involves technical infrastructure and satellite operations).
