Job Description

A hands-on Backend Engineer role focused on developing and maintaining microservices that enable command, monitoring, and automation of satellite operations, working across multiple satellite platforms and collaborating with various technical teams to support live missions and spacecraft control.

Key Responsibilities

Build and scale backend microservices for satellite command, monitoring, and automation
Develop systems that translate high-level intent into safe, reliable on-orbit operations
Collaborate with backend, flight software, embedded systems, test, and satellite operations teams
Debug and troubleshoot live satellite missions
Write and operate tools used for spacecraft operations

Requirements

Proven experience in building and scaling backend systems, specifically microservices that sit between ground and flight software, turning high-level intent into safe, reliable on-orbit operations.
Experience working across multiple satellite platforms and collaborating closely with backend, flight software, embedded systems, test, and satellite operations teams.
Hands-on engineering experience involving both building new systems and debugging live missions.
Ability to write and operate tools used to operate spacecraft, with familiarity in SatDevOps practices.
