Job Description
The Engineer at RMDC is responsible for remotely monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting global Battery Energy Storage Systems to ensure their continuous, safe, and efficient operation, supporting incident resolution, maintenance, and system improvements across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the remote owner for large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) sites globally
- Serve as the primary contact for operational and technical issues reported via alarms or customer calls
- Monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot systems including BMS, PCS, inverters, HVAC, Linux servers, SCADA, and networking devices
- Coordinate with field engineers, regional teams, and specialists to resolve incidents within SLA timelines
- Ensure safety protocols during remote maintenance and guidance
- Maintain accurate logs, site tickets, and service reports in the service management platform
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance uptime, response time, and cost-efficiency
- Escalate persistent issues and provide feedback to engineering and product teams for system improvements
- Support remote planned preventive maintenance activities with minimal site disruptions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering (BSEE, BSME, BSCE) or Licensed Electrician
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in remote Operations and Maintenance (O M) or technical support roles in Energy Storage, Power Generation, or Industrial Automation
- Proven hands-on experience in monitoring and remote troubleshooting of Battery Management Systems (BMS), Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Inverters, HVAC and Cooling Systems, Ubuntu Linux OS Servers, SCADA Systems, Networking Devices including Cisco Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
- Experience working with incident management and ticketing systems
- Strong documentation, reporting, and analytical skills using Microsoft Office and service platforms
- Physically capable to support field teams if needed, including lifting up to 40lbs and climbing ladders or steps
- Willingness to work rotational night shifts, holidays, and support weekends as part of a 365-day operational team
