Job Description

The Managing Consultant at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic analysis, developing reports, and delivering presentations on complex energy and climate issues, while managing workstreams and contributing to policy and market solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing interactions and develop project approach and methods for medium-to-large projects
  • Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
  • Deliver findings and summaries to customers through presentations and Q&A sessions
  • Oversee investigative tasks, manage existing tools, and lead proposal writing efforts

Requirements

  • Deep subject matter expertise related to at least one of the practice areas: Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, or Integrated System Planning.
  • Strong analytical dexterity or policy experience relevant to energy issues.
  • Ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient and provide guidance to serve customers.
  • Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying the approach and methods for medium-to-large projects.
  • Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
  • Ability to deliver findings and summaries to customers, including making presentations and replying to questions.
  • Experience with overseeing the management of existing tools and leading efforts on proposal writing.
  • Strong attention to detail in project work and technical analysis.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills to manage multiple tasks and guide team members.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid and flexible work environment, including working extended hours in front of a computer screen and conducting meetings virtually or via telephone.
  • Full-time employment with the ability to work 0-10% travel as required.
  • Educational background or professional experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the above responsibilities (implied, as the posting emphasizes expertise and experience).
