Job Description
The Associate Director at E3 will lead client-facing projects in the energy consulting sector, providing strategic guidance, managing workstreams, and contributing to reports and presentations to support clean energy policy implementation and market development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing interactions and contribute to project approach and methodology for medium-to-large projects
- Manage and direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
- Deliver findings and summaries to clients through presentations and Q&A sessions
- Oversee investigative tasks, manage existing tools, and lead proposal writing efforts
Requirements
- Possess a deep subject matter expertise and strong technical aptitude in energy policy, regulation, markets, or related fields.
- Have a minimum of several years of professional experience supporting significant business development efforts in energy consulting or related sectors.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering an elevated level of guidance to serve customers.
- Experience in managing, shaping, and developing a practice area within an energy consulting firm or similar environment.
- Proven ability to lead client-facing interactions, including identifying approaches and methods for medium-to-large sized projects, and delivering findings and summaries to customers through presentations and written reports.
- Ability to oversee the management of existing tools and lead efforts on proposal writing.
- Have a strong attention to detail and excellent project management and leadership techniques.
- Be comfortable working in a hybrid and flexible work environment, including working from an office at least 2-3 days per week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Be able to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
- Occasionally travel up to 10 times per year to client sites within the United States and/or Canada.
- Possess a relevant educational background, such as a bachelor’s degree or higher, in a field related to energy, environmental science, engineering, economics, or policy (implied but not explicitly specified).
