The Sr. Manager, Land Development at Copia Power is responsible for managing land acquisition efforts, reviewing and resolving title and survey issues, negotiating site control agreements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support renewable energy project development.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate site control agreements including options, leases, easements, and rights-of-way.
Obtain and analyze title commitments and resolve title curative issues.
Obtain and analyze ALTA surveys, coordinate revisions, and define lease and easement boundaries.
Negotiate mineral underwriting, order mineral ownership reports, and secure surface waiver agreements.
Review, evaluate, and revise legal agreements such as leases and easements in collaboration with outside counsel.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during development and financing phases.
Manage and oversee external consultants, including scope of work and quality review.
Requirements
7 years of progressive experience in real estate title and land development with knowledge of renewable energy project development, utilities, interconnection, permitting, and renewable energy technologies
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, land use planning, or a related field (preferred)
Ability to read and understand legal documents, title reports, and ALTA surveys
Experience working with mapping resources such as Google Earth, GIS, ALTA survey, etc.
Ability to work in the Copia Office in Salt Lake City, UT, Dana Point, CA, or Lake Oswego, OR a minimum of 3 days per week
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
