The Senior Associate at Charles River Associates conducts economic, financial, and accounting analyses to support litigation and regulatory matters, developing financial models, drafting expert reports, and collaborating with clients and team members to provide clear, data-driven solutions to complex business issues.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop complex economic and financial models to analyze data and support litigation and regulatory matters
Guide programming, model building, and statistical analysis using tools like Stata, SAS, R, or Python
Draw conclusions and generate insights from data analysis to inform client recommendations
Draft and present expert reports summarizing opinions, conclusions, and analytical support
Interact directly with clients, attorneys, industry professionals, and government entities on finance and economics issues
Assist regulators and financial institutions with analysis of trading activities in various markets
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of economic analyses and opinions
Supervise, coach, and delegate work to junior analysts
Participate in practice development activities, including mentoring, training, and recruiting
Identify potential project revenue opportunities and communicate them to senior staff
Requirements
PhD in Finance or Accounting graduating in 2026
Up to 4 years of relevant post-PhD work experience
Solid working knowledge of finance, accounting, and economic empirical methodologies
Command of a broad range of research and quantitative analysis skills including strong Excel skills
Ability to independently conceptualize and identify issues, designing complex economic and financial models to analyze economic and financial data
Experience guiding programming, model building, and regression analysis in statistical analysis programs such as Stata, SAS, R, or Python
Ability to draw conclusions and generate insights for leading academics and senior leaders based on models and data analysis
Experience drafting and presenting portions of client deliverables including expert reports summarizing opinions, conclusions, and recommendations, and analyzing third-party financial, market, and industry data
Ability to interact directly with clients, attorneys, industry professionals, and government entities on finance, strategy, and economics issues
Experience assisting regulators and financial institutions with analysis of trading on exchanges and in OTC markets for a wide spectrum of contracts
Ability to ensure the integrity and accuracy of economic analyses and opinions
Ability to facilitate internal and client meetings with effective communication
Experience supervising, coaching, and delegating work to junior analysts
Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership
Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities
Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
