Job Description
This role involves leading the design and management of integrated technology systems such as structured cabling, audiovisual, security, and data networking within building projects, while overseeing project execution, client relationships, and team mentorship in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify structured cabling, audio visual, electronic security, nurse call, distributed antenna systems, outside plant, data networking, LAN/WAN, voice/data architecture, and data centers.
- Manage project scope, schedules, and team activities from concept through construction.
- Collaborate with design teams to identify technology scope and integrate projects across multiple markets.
- Prepare contract documents and coordinate project requirements with other disciplines.
- Meet with clients to understand needs, develop engineering concepts, and provide recommendations.
- Assess job sites, identify conflicts, and make resolution recommendations.
- Mentor and evaluate staff development needs, providing ongoing feedback and training.
- Build and maintain client relationships, negotiate new projects, and secure assignments.
- Travel as needed to meet project and client requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum 8 years of related experience required.
- Must have knowledge of the design of structured cabling systems, audio visual systems, electronic security systems, nurse call, distributed antenna systems, outside plant, data networking, LAN WAN, voice and data architecture, and data centers.
- Understanding of applicable design codes including NFPA, FGI, NEC, BICSI, and EIA TIA.
- Must be a critical thinker and highly analytical.
- Must be able to work independently with no oversight or guidance.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Ability to engage effectively with clients.
- Revit proficiency is preferred.
