Job Description
This position involves leading and managing interior design projects from concept to construction, providing creative and technical leadership, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring staff to deliver innovative and compliant interior spaces across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and engage with clients and project teams to establish project goals and vision
- Provide interior design leadership across multiple projects and all project phases
- Develop and coordinate interior design concepts, spatial requirements, and design development
- Ensure design work complies with codes and integrates with other disciplines
- Review drawings and support functions to meet project constraints
- Oversee and produce design visualizations and presentations
- Develop project work plans, schedules, and budgets for interior design components
- Participate in client meetings and maintain positive client relationships
- Develop specifications for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) and coordinate with vendors
- Mentor less experienced interior design staff and promote design leadership
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and review of submittals
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
- Strong design, storytelling, and technical skills as well as knowledge of building and life safety codes required.
- Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration, and communication skills are a must.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships is essential.
- Experience leading a high performing team is preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Travel as required.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
