Job Description

Assist in the design and development of interior spaces through all project phases, including creating drawings, selecting furniture and materials, and supporting client interactions, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic design environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager in executing project goals across all phases including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Develop interior space designs through planning and three-dimensional studies
  • Create drawings such as floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, and pattern designs
  • Support in furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications throughout project phases
  • Produce drawings that meet project time, cost, and quality constraints
  • Research and apply building and life safety codes to interior design work
  • Prepare renderings and presentation materials
  • Participate in client meetings to gain interaction and presentation experience
  • Conduct site visits, review submittals and shop drawings, and assist in punch list activities during construction administration
  • Mentor less experienced interior design staff and guide project document development

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience required.
  • Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to participate in the development of project’s technical or design characteristics and content.
  • Strong creative design portfolio is essential.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Ability to produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Ability to identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work.
  • Ability to prepare renderings and other presentation materials.
  • Ability to follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
  • Ability to participate in client meetings with Senior Interior Designer to gain client interaction and presentation experience.
  • Ability to participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list.
  • Physical ability to conduct site visits, which frequently require a physical walk-through of the site.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
