Job Description
This role is a senior design leadership position responsible for guiding innovative architectural projects, mentoring teams, developing client relationships, and promoting design excellence within a collaborative and sustainable practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design development and communicate design goals to clients and teams throughout all project phases.
- Collaborate with strategic thinkers to co-lead visioning and set conceptual direction.
- Ensure design quality across all project phases through team collaboration.
- Create and present innovative design concepts that align with client culture, goals, and societal needs.
- Prepare and lead client presentations to convey design ideas effectively.
- Capture and communicate client goals and demonstrate how design solutions add value.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications to promote the firm's work.
- Integrate sustainable and performance-based design strategies, including decarbonization and AIA 2030 commitments.
- Contribute to the firm's portfolio by submitting work for awards and publications.
- Mentor and develop emerging professionals to foster a strong design culture.
- Recruit, retain, and build high-performance design teams.
- Lead by example to promote innovation, collaboration, and design excellence within the firm.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, building trust and loyalty.
- Identify and pursue new client opportunities in collaboration with business development teams.
- Participate in client and project pursuit strategies from initial targeting through proposal and interviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture required.
- Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture from an accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in a design leadership role.
- At least 3 years of experience leading others in a design studio or design practice segment.
- Current US Architectural Registration preferred.
- Design portfolio of significant built and unbuilt work.
- Third party recognition of work as a lead or supporting design role by local, regional, or national design awards programs and recognized design publications or digital platforms is preferred.
- Strong oral presentation and storytelling skills required.
- Must be able to understand and execute business strategy.
- Must have professional acumen and maturity demonstrated by the ability to communicate authentically and respectfully.
- Travel required.

Salary range of $158,200 to $197,800 annually, with potential for discretionary bonuses
