This position is a field-oriented project manager responsible for overseeing MEP construction projects, including managing schedules, budgets, and on-site coordination of mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and plumbing, from preconstruction to project closeout.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage MEP projects from preconstruction through closeout in the field.
Coordinate mechanical scopes such as HVAC, piping, and plumbing with electrical and plumbing teams.
Develop and oversee project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and material procurement.
Read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
Review shop drawings, identify conflicts, RFIs, and scope gaps, and drive resolution.
Serve as the on-site project manager and primary point of contact for field activities.
Lead and coordinate mechanical installers, subcontractors, and foremen to ensure work quality and compliance.
Conduct site walks, quality checks, and safety oversight to ensure project standards.
Interface with owners, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams to facilitate project coordination.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
7 to 15 years of experience in mechanical or MEP construction, with progressive responsibility from field execution to project leadership.
Proven experience managing MEP or mechanical construction projects in the field.
Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems, with working knowledge of electrical and plumbing coordination.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Experience developing and managing project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and material procurement.
Ability to track project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve field issues.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Experience supporting commissioning and turnover processes.
Ability to serve as the primary on-site project manager and point of contact, leading and coordinating mechanical installers, subcontractors, and foremen.
Experience conducting site walks, quality checks, and safety oversight.
Ability to interface effectively with owners, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and internal leadership, leading coordination meetings and providing clear project updates.
Physical ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including working at construction sites and performing safety-sensitive duties.
Willingness to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as required based on operational needs.
Ability to travel up to 75% to project sites in the greater Northeast Region and other locations in the United States, with lodging travel reimbursement provided for overnight stays.

Base annual salary range of $130,000 - $150,000
