This position involves mobilizing and operating drilling equipment for geothermal projects at commercial sites, performing geotechnical and environmental drilling, installing test wells, and ensuring safety and organization on job sites across the Northeast region of the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Mobilize drilling equipment for commercial geothermal projects in various environments
Perform geotechnical and environmental drilling methods
Install test wells and conduct feasibility studies with the geothermal team
Operate, maintain, and care for drill rigs and related equipment
Ensure safety, organization, and security of all personnel and equipment on-site
Oversee site safety and compliance protocols for drilling operations
Understand mechanics and requirements for drill sites
Handle physical tasks such as hauling, lifting, moving, and digging materials and equipment
Requirements
Active Driller s License Operator, Journeyman or Apprentice strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain it.
Active CDL strongly preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must have an OSHA 30 SST card and Flagger certification strongly preferred.
Prior experience operating drilling equipment is a must.
Understand and follow utility locate law and compliance procedures, safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations.
Minimum of 5 years of construction and/or drilling experience.
Experience with geothermal heat pumps.
Ability to mobilize drilling equipment including various applications within an urban and suburban environment.
Perform geotechnical and environmental drilling methods.
Willingness to travel 100% in Maryland and the greater Northeast Region of the United States, including states CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD.
Ability to install test wells and conduct feasibility studies with the Geothermal team.
Ensure project safety, organization, and security of all equipment and personnel.
Operate and care for drill rigs, machines, and other equipment as needed.
Responsible for site safety and the safety of the drilling crew.
Understand mechanics and requirements for drill sites.
Physically capable of hauling, lifting 60-80 lbs., moving, loading, and digging materials and equipment.
Able to stand and bend for extended periods of time.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, with eligibility for overtime pay for hours over 40 per week.
