The role involves overseeing daily geothermal drilling operations, managing crews, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, troubleshooting operational issues, and coordinating with stakeholders to meet project goals efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise multiple geothermal drilling sites to ensure adherence to project plans, timelines, and budgets
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and drilling regulations through audits and risk assessments
Coordinate procurement, mobilization, and maintenance of drilling equipment and materials
Troubleshoot operational challenges and collaborate with engineers and geologists to optimize drilling techniques
Monitor and control drilling budgets, reducing waste and managing costs
Generate and present reports on drilling progress, safety incidents, and equipment usage to management
Liaise with government agencies, landowners, and community stakeholders to address permits, licenses, and concerns
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
7 years of experience overseeing a drilling operation within geothermal, or the oil and gas fields required.
Oversight experience preferably in a regional or multi-site environment required.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Solid understanding of operational principles, processes, and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Willingness to travel within the region as needed, including being away from home Monday through Friday, with scheduled Saturdays, and lodging provided for overnight stays.
OSHA 30 certification is required, or willingness to complete training within the first 90 days of employment.
Pre-employment background check including prior employment verifications, criminal history check, and pre-employment drug screen.
Compliance with drug and alcohol testing records as per DOT regulations 49 CFR 40.25 for safety-sensitive duties.
Work in a work site setting, including field work and possibly remote or hybrid arrangements.
Physical demands must be met to perform essential functions of the job, as it is a safety-sensitive position.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation salary range: $175,000 - $195,000 per year with an annual discretionary bonus
Work schedule: Minimum 40 hours per week, with overtime pay for non-exempt employees, additional hours as necessary for exempt employees
