This position involves mobilizing and operating drilling equipment for geothermal and geotechnical projects at commercial sites across the Northeast, ensuring safety and efficiency while supporting feasibility studies and installation of test wells.
Key Responsibilities
Mobilize drilling equipment for commercial applications within urban and suburban environments
Perform geotechnical and environmental geothermal drilling methods
Install test wells and conduct feasibility studies with the geothermal team
Operate, maintain, and care for drill rigs and related equipment
Ensure safety, organization, and security of all equipment and personnel on-site
Oversee site safety and the safety of the drilling crew
Understand mechanics and requirements for drill sites
Transport and load materials and equipment, including heavy lifting
Work outdoors in various weather conditions, standing and bending for extended periods
Requirements
Must have prior experience operating drilling equipment.
Must have an active Driller's License (strongly preferred).
Must have an active CDL (strongly preferred).
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Must have an OSHA 30 SST card (strongly preferred).
Must have Flagger certification (strongly preferred).
Must understand and follow utility locate law and compliance procedures, safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations.
Must have at least 5 years of construction and/or drilling experience in NY, NJ, CT, or MA.
Must be willing to travel 100% in the greater Northeast Region of the United States, including CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD.
Must be willing to be away from home Monday through Friday, including scheduled Saturdays, with lodging provided for overnight stays.
Must be physically capable of hauling, lifting 60-80 lbs., moving, loading, and digging materials and equipment.
Must be able to stand and bend for extended periods of time.
Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to perform geotechnical and environmental drilling methods.
Must understand mechanics and requirements for drill sites.
Experience with geothermal heat pumps (preferred).
Experience with geothermal drilling methods and installing test wells for feasibility studies.
Knowledge of safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations related to drilling operations.
Ability to operate and care for drill rigs, machines, and other equipment as needed.
Ability to ensure project safety, organization, and security of all equipment and personnel.
Willingness to cross-train in related tasks.
Must be able to perform site safety responsibilities and oversee safety of the drilling crew.
Expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime eligibility for hours over 40 per week.
