Job Description
The Director of Civil Engineering for Land Development is responsible for leading business development, managing a team of engineers, and overseeing land development projects to ensure quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of civil engineers and support staff.
- Oversee planning, design, and execution of land development projects, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence.
- Develop and implement regional strategies to drive growth and profitability in land development.
- Create and execute business development plans to expand market presence and secure new projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proposals, presentations, and negotiations.
- Represent the company at industry events to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Ensure successful delivery of land development projects from inception to completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, focusing on land development, commercial, and/or single-family residential (SFD) projects
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans
- Experience overseeing the planning, design, and execution of land development projects, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timeline requirements
- Experience in developing and implementing regional strategies to drive growth and profitability in the land development market
