Job Description
The role involves leading multidisciplinary power energy projects, including wind, solar, battery storage, and transmission, managing the entire project lifecycle from scope definition to construction support, ensuring technical compliance, coordinating teams and vendors, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the project lifecycle from scope definition to turnover, including proposals, schedules, risk management, and cost control.
- Drive technical delivery by coordinating and reviewing civil, structural, electrical, HV, collection, interconnection, and studies work to ensure compliance with standards and constructability.
- Manage quality compliance through QA/QC plans, submittals, RFIs, and document control, and ensure environmental permitting and interconnection requirements are integrated.
- Support construction activities by performing site visits, reviewing shop drawings and test reports, and supporting FAT, SAT, energization, punch-list closure, and lessons learned.
- Coordinate internal engineers, designers, external partners, EPCs, specialty subs, and equipment vendors to align deliverables and mitigate risks.
Requirements
- 8 years delivering power energy projects consulting, owner s engineer, or EPCM spanning utility-scale wind, solar, BESS, HV substations, and or transmission.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering or related field.
- PE license preferred, multi-state a plus.
- PMP certification a plus.
- Working knowledge of interconnection studies and design coordination, e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSSE, PSCAD, familiarity with PLS-CADD, POLE, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam.
- Experience with owner’s-rep or owner’s engineer roles and utility interfaces, ISO RTO processes, constructability reviews, commissioning plans, and startup energization.
- Knowledge of procurement workflows and major equipment modules, including trackers, inverters, transformers, breakers, relays.
