Job Description
This position involves performing civil engineering design and technical tasks related to land development projects, including site layout, utility design, grading, permitting, and project management, with opportunities for mentorship and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop land development projects including site layout, utility, roadway, grading, and stormwater management.
- Prepare permit applications and coordinate with municipal agencies for project approvals.
- Conduct feasibility studies, master planning, and engineering design for water, sanitary, and storm sewer systems.
- Estimate project costs, prepare design calculations, and review project specifications.
- Assist in preparing proposals, project schedules, budgets, and billing.
- Produce final construction drawings and assist with construction support activities.
- Mentor and delegate tasks to Staff Engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in business development and represent the firm at client and municipal meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land development, residential, industrial, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, educational, or recreational design.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Strong understanding of local governmental public and private development codes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Outstanding writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be fluent in the English language.
