Job Description
The Regional Safety Manager oversees safety practices across multiple project sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting training and safety observations, and promoting a safe work environment in the land development and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise safety protocols on-site and in the field
- Conduct and document safety observations of personnel, equipment, and materials
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, regulations, and standards such as OSHA and EPA
- Develop and implement site-specific safety work plans for projects
- Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees
- Lead investigations and evaluations of injuries and incidents
- Travel to project sites and remote work locations for safety oversight
- Coordinate with local management teams on safety matters
- Report weekly safety activities to the Associate Director of Safety
- Complete field documentation including safety observations and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Promote and train employees on the use of safety applications like AtwellSafe.com
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Safety on policy reviews
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of industry and construction safety practices, particularly in the Land and Development, and Power and Energy operations.
- At least 5 years of relevant safety experience.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent.
- Associates degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Willingness to travel extensively to visit projects and remote work locations, primarily within Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Colorado.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Extensive driving experience and ability to work from remote locations, including trucks and job trailers.
